REVIEW:MAC RETRO MATTE LIPPIES

Who doesn’t love to have themselves some mac lippies. I for one am obsessed with them.Today i am gonna review mac’s retro matte finish lipstick. So first things first mac have a vast range of lipstick shades to choose from so picking  just one is impossible specially for a lipstick junkie like me 😉 Along with endless shades they have around 9 finishes which means they have a lippie for everyone. These lipsticks have a very sweet vanilla smells which is always a plus in my books

The finishes are as
Amplified
Amplified creme
Cremesheen
Frost
Glaze
Lustre
Matte
Retro matte
Satin

So today we are talking about their retro matte lipsticks. They have 5 shades in this finish.ruby woo, relentlessly red, flat out fabulous, all fired up and dangerous in there permanent line out of which i own 3 shades, relentlessly red, flat out fabulous,All fired up and will soon be ordering ruby woo.Although in the swatch Relentlessly red and all fired up looks similar but on lips they do not look same at all

Here are the pictures of the retro mattes along with there swatches

As far as the formula is concern it’s a retro matte finish. Now retro matte finishes are suppose to be more creamer then there mattes. I feel they are a tad bit drying just like the way matte lipsticks are in general.I am use to wearing matte lippies. In fact matte formulas i prefer over any other so i didn’t mind it. But if you find it to be drying you can apply a thin layer of lip balm and then apply the lipstick on top and you are good to go.The plus side of matte and retro matte formula is they’ll stay put on your lips for hours. I find they last on my lips for a good 4-5 hours and leave behind a stain so i don’t have to apply it through out. So girls who don’t like to wear matte formulas should skip it and girls who wants a long lasting lippie this one is for you 🙂

PROS

  • Scent(If u enjoy scented lippies)
  • Long lasting leaves a stain behind so u don’t have to reapply
  • Pigmented
  • No bleeding so u don’t have to use a lip liner with it

CONS

  • Slightly drying
  • Scent(Can be a con for someone who does not like scented lip product. The scent is quit strong)
  • It’s expensive

AVAILABILITY:I bought mine from a lovely facebook page who deals with all genuine mac products called macaddict for rs 2100 a piece.facebook
